Safety Intro

Partner dancing can be dangerous. I believe it is most dangerous for beginning dancers who haven’t learned enough about how to control their bodies and protect themselves (and anyone dancing near them) and advanced dancers who do aerials, lifts, and tricks. Anyone who dances on poor dance surfaces and/or without wearing well fitting dance shoes is also setting themselves up for injuries. However, if you follow these basic guidelines, you will minimize your chances of injuring yourself or someone else. If you do accidentally hurt someone- apologize immediately. If someone hurts you, be forgiving. If you have never stepped on someone’s toe or accidentally hit someone, you haven’t been dancing long.
