Ballroom & Latin Shoes for Men:

Men’s ballroom and Latin shoes are available in several materials. Lycra is the most durable material, is animal friendly, and requires almost no special care. Calfskin leather can stretch over time, and needs some care. Patent leather will require lots of special care. For example- you will need to rub Vaseline on the inside toe and heel areas of the shoes to keep them from sticking together while dancing.

International Latin and American Rhythm shoes are generally a solid black shoe with a 1 ½” heel. A “half shank” works best for Latin dances as it allows more flexibility over the foot. Choose the style that fits you best.

American Smooth and International Standard shoes are generally a solid black shoe with a 1” heel. A “full shank” works best for smooth dancing, as it supports the foot more properly. Choose the style that fits you best.
